22" Cymbal & Gong Extra Special Janavar crash-ride
22" Cymbal & Gong Extra Special Janavar crash-ride
Janavar series cymbals are typically considered to be light weight rock cymbals with a small bell, and are full sounding, bright, and clean. Cymbalistic's “Extra Special” Janavar cymbals are given “K-style” irregular hammering and lathing, for a slightly darker, more complex jazz sound. Usually we give them a heavy patina for a slightly drier sound, and to highlight the complexity. All Janavar cymbals are categorized as crash-rides.
Compared to the similar “Turkish style” Holy Grail, the 22" Extra Special Janavar (with the heavy patina) will typically be a little brighter in tonality, with a little more stick definition, and will feel “softer” under the stick, with a stronger, higher bell sound.

“Khan” - 2426g
Bolder-than-normal jazz cymbal, with a little bit of edge. Substantial, trending towards medium weight— we could call it a “jazz medium”— with a normal Holy Grail patina, which equals a full sound, greater than normal sustain. Wide, pleasing, energetic crash sound. Good candidate for adding rivets.
